Welcome to SlangSphere (“SlangSphere,” “we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of slangsphere.com and any related services, content, features, or applications we provide (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are in the EU/EEA and under 16, you must have parental permission. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2) Changes to the Service and to These Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and indicated by the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3) Accounts and Security (if applicable)
If the Service allows you to create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4) Intellectual Property
All content on the Service—including text, graphics, images, audio, video, logos, and design—belongs to SlangSphere or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, perform, or create derivative works from the content without our prior written consent.
5) User Contributions
The Service may allow you to submit slang terms, definitions, examples, comments, or other content (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant SlangSphere a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, distribute, display, and perform such content in connection with the Service and our business (including promotion). You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit User Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate laws.
We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to review, remove, or refuse to display any User Content in our sole discretion.
6) Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- harass, threaten, or harm others, or post unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or hateful content;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security features;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the Service without our consent;
- engage in activities that artificially inflate traffic, impressions, or clicks (including on ads);
- post or facilitate content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other rights.
7) Third-Party Services & APIs
7.1 TikTok for Developers (Login/OAuth & Content Posting API)
We integrate with TikTok for Developers to authenticate our own TikTok account and to upload and publish our educational videos programmatically. If you choose to connect a TikTok account (e.g., to manage posts to your/our official account), you authorize us to receive and process limited data (e.g., account handle, user ID, access/refresh tokens, granted scopes, and video identifiers) solely to upload and/or publish videos to the authenticated account.
You may revoke access at any time within our application or via TikTok → Settings → Security → Manage app permissions. Use of TikTok is governed by TikTok’s own terms and policies.
7.2 Other Integrations (e.g., YouTube)
We may use other third-party services (e.g., YouTube) to host, embed, or distribute content. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites and services.
7.3 Links to Third-Party Sites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by SlangSphere. We do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.
8) Advertising & Monetization (Google AdSense)
We display advertisements from Google AdSense and, at times, other ad partners (“Ad Partners”).
8.1 Ad Services. Ads may be contextual, personalized (interest-based), or non-personalized depending on your settings and local regulations.
8.2 Technology Used. Ad Partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver, measure, and improve ads, cap frequency, and prevent fraud/abuse.
8.3 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads. Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we obtain consent for personalized ads. If you do not consent, we serve non-personalized ads that may still use limited data for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention.
8.4 Your Choices. You can manage ad preferences via your browser/device settings and Google Ad Settings, and you may use regional opt-out tools (e.g., “AdChoices,” “YourOnlineChoices”) where available.
8.5 Compliance. We operate AdSense under Google’s Publisher Policies and Program Policies. We may remove or restrict content or ad placements to maintain compliance (e.g., sensitive categories, restricted content, invalid traffic).
8.6 No Endorsement / Third-Party Dealings. We do not endorse products or services advertised on the Service. Your dealings with advertisers—including payment, delivery, and any terms—are solely between you and the advertiser. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from such dealings.
8.7 Prohibited Conduct. You must not interfere with ad delivery, artificially generate impressions/clicks, or encourage others to click ads.
8.8 Children. Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request or serve interest-based ads to children. If any section of the Service is designated as child-directed, we configure ad requests accordingly.
8.9 Changes. Ad formats, partners, and placements may change over time. We will update this section and our Privacy Policy as needed.
9) Copyright Complaints (DMCA / Notice)
If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, please email [email protected] with:
- your name, address, and contact details;
- a description of the copyrighted work;
- the URL/location of the allegedly infringing material;
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf; and
- your physical or electronic signature. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
10) Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect (including in relation to TikTok/AdSense), how we use it, and your rights. Please review it carefully: https://www.slangsphere.com/privacy-policy-2/.
11) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
12) Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLANGSPHERE AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. In all cases, our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of EUR 50 or the amount you paid to us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SlangSphere and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14) Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, pose a risk to the Service or other users, or as required by law. Upon termination, Sections 4–16 of these Terms will survive.
15) Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania (EU), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Romania to resolve any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service. (Update jurisdiction if your legal entity is elsewhere.)
16) Severability; Entire Agreement; No Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
